Tech 387 is a big family; time to meet the Lead Engineer at Tech387, Faruk!
I joined Tech 387 once I realised the potential that this company has. The potential is something that I could assess through the following three factors: people who make up this team and share the same vision, technologies that the team works with, and the culture of this community - such contagious sense of unity, belonging and teamwork.
Being part of this positive story is what attracted me in the first place, but what is keeping me here are the three factors put in practice, which in the end turned out to surpass my initial expectations.
One of those days for suiting up at work
Being a lead engineer is everything but a straightforward role. It requires an utmost sense of responsibility, dedication, leadership and patience.
To become a lead engineer, one must go through thick and thin in terms of learning, improving, growing as a person and developing the above mentioned characteristics.
It goes without saying that a lead engineer must be technically more capable than his/her peers. However, a "perfectly" technically capable person cannot always become a lead, because honed soft and interpersonal skills then become a need.
Therefore, to be a lead, besides technical capabilities one must possess strong social and management skills in order to lead teams successfully.
Since my early childhood, I've always been motivated by great challenges. Thus, I had started my IT career with the goal to grow up and mature through the challenges that lied ahead.
Some of the things that I wish to achieve within the next 5 years with Tech 387:
- continue working on challenging projects
- continue working with trending technologies
- solve great problems
- becoming a Software Architect and eventually CTO
Some of my day-to-day activities involve the following activities:
- I work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and help translate these into technical requirements for the development team;
- I plan and document technical specifications for features or system design;
- I design, build and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements;
- I direct the development team in the design, development, coding, testing and debugging of applications;
- I write testable, scalable and efficient code and lead code reviews;
- I mentor junior team members and ensure they adhere to determining software quality standards.
Tech 387 always rewards hard work
Tech 387 has offered me an opportunity to develop, both personally and on a professional level. I joined the team as an intern, and over a relatively short period of time I have risen up the ranks to become a Lead Developer.
What is most interesting and motivating about Tech 387 is that years of experience or age do not define your seniority. The focus is rather on technical capability and overall ability to fill the position, which is something that I value a lot about this company.
I tend to use as many opportunities as possible to spend quality time with my family and my spouse.
From time to time, we would spend our time visiting natural beauties across the country or travel abroad to visit new places and meet new cultures. Also, I am into gaming so when I have time, I spend some of it playing games or watching movies.
