Meet Edis, ProceraSoft's project manager

Time to meet the Project Manager at Procerasoft, Edis!

How did you first learn about ProceraSoft?

I first learned about ProceraSoft when their recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn. He introduced me to the company and explained what the company wants to do and how they want to differentiate themselves from the rest of the industry. The company was still at a very early stage when I joined, and the opportunity to leave an early mark on ProceraSoft played a big part in my decision to join the company.

What do you like most about ProceraSoft?

What I love the most about ProceraSoft is how it allows people to choose how they want to develop and empowers them to pursue those choices. Everyone can choose their own path, even if that path isn't exactly vertical to their current role. People can explore their passions and find the role which best suits their strengths and in which they can excel.

What drew you to the IT industry? Have you always worked in project manager roles?

I have worked as a project manager before joining ProceraSoft, but never in the IT industry. A lot of the skills I had carried over into this role, but there was still a bit of adjustment. My current role gave me the opportunity to utilize my existing skillset in a very relevant and exciting field.

Do you have any hobbies, go-to weekend activities, or long-term passion projects you’re working on?

Playing basketball on outdoor courts is pretty much a daily activity for me during the warmer months of the year. It's a great way to unwind after a long day and stay active. During the winter months, the group I usually play with switches to indoor courts and we still try to get some reps in at least a few times per week.

What did you want to be when growing up?

There were two things I wanted to be when I was younger. For a while, I wanted to be an engineer of some kind or a mechanic. When I was a kid, I loved tinkering with machinery and smaller electronics. It was pretty much just a matter of time before I would try to disassemble things like toy trains to see how they work inside. I also loved solving problems, so a bit later I wanted to become a consultant and help other people solve the problems they were facing in business.

What's your favourite newspaper, blog?

Since I'm a huge NBA fan and the time difference doesn't let me catch a lot of games during the regular season, I'd have to go with Bleacher Report. I pretty much read B/R daily to keep up with the latest news from around the NBA when I can't catch the actual games.
