Unpacking the Life of HR Manager Daniela Coelho

Meet Daniela. Daniela is a people person and likes the phrase "Happiness is only real when shared". She loves being surrounded by the people she cares about the most: friends, family, and of course her dog. She graduated in psychology due to her interest in everything that involves the human mind, and she loves meeting new people and their points of view. She discovered organisational psychology in her master's and became a Recruiter at Particle, where meeting people happens on a daily basis.

After a few years in Lisbon, she returned to her hometown in the Azores where she is happy, surrounded by sea and nature. So if you want to find her, take a plane and look in the bathing areas, on the trail hikes, or even in a coffee shop, and you will probably find her.

Why did you join Particle Forward and what has kept you there?

I joined Particle because I really liked their vibe and approach in the interview and the fact that I can contribute to the company's growth.

What has kept me in the company is without a doubt the work/team environment and transparency. And also the balance I found here between work and personal life.

What are the unique challenges of your role and how do you overcome them?

Being the company's first contact makes me the company's business card, so I have the responsibility to represent it well. Dealing with different types of people gives me the challenge of having to adapt to different personalities. It is even more challenging the fact that IT professionals are very harassed; there is a lot of demand for candidates with these technical skills, so we have to make an extra effort to make a difference. Having resilience and empathy for others are fundamental characteristics to deal with possible eventualities, and the support of the team has been a great support.

What is your most memorable moment at Particle Forward?

Probably one of the team events where we attended a live concert and ate tapas online.

How do you spend your time out of work hours?

Walking for a few hours, walking my dog, spending time with my family, and hanging out with friends.

When are you happiest?

When surrounded by my favorite people: family, friends and my dog.

If given a chance, who would you like to be for a day?

On the one hand the most powerful person in the world, but on the other the poorest and most unfavorable person in the world. Could I be one of them in each half of the day?

Having both perspectives of life would be very enriching and probably I would value life more.

If you could witness a historical event, what would it be?

Experience the origin of the world (Big Bang)
