Meet Susana Oliveira, the Life of UX/UI!

Meet Susana Oliveira, a UX/UI Designer at Particle Forward. She takes care of everything design-related, from the visuals to the User Experience, as she was the first designer hired by the company.

After work, she’s usually with her friends, in nature doing yoga, walking her energetic dog in 1/2 hours walks or planning her next trip. She likes to meet new people, cultures and explore new places inside and outside Portugal.

Why did you join Particle Forward and what has kept you there?

I joined Particle Forward because I felt that would be a big opportunity to grow as a UX/UI designer for many reasons, one of them being the spirit of the company and the projects that were presented to me. Also, as the company is a startup, it gives me the chance to grow with the company.

I continued working in Particle Forward because all my expectations were correct and even exceeded.

What are the unique challenges of your role and how do you overcome them?

The biggest challenge of my role, in my opinion, is looking for inspiration and feeling inspired.

Besides looking for new designers and products, it helps me to work on different projects at the same time, so I don’t spend all my working hours each day focusing on the same challenge.

What is your most memorable moment at Particle Forward?

I believe that, so far, the most memorable moment was to see some colleagues personally for the first time, as we work remotely. The biggest one will be when the whole team gets together for the first time; that’s happening soon.

How do you spend your time out of work hours?

Out of working hours I spend time with friends and family, with my dog, and doing exercise.

When are you happiest?

Probably when having a drink watching a sunset.

What are your top 3 life highlights?

• Moving to England when I was 23
• Moving to my first apartment
• Adopting my dog

If given a chance, who would you like to be for a day?

An astronaut.

If you could witness any historical event live, what would it be?

The first trip to the moon.
