Time to meet the HR Manager at Nortik Software Solutions, Tamara!
What's your motto or personal mantra?
My motto in life is a sentence said by my favorite singer Jon Bon Jovi: "Nothing is as important as passion. No matter what you want to do with your life, be passionate.".
What did you want to be when growing up?
When growing up, I wanted to be a basketball player. I played basketball for fourteen years, and during my playing career, I was a member of the national team for many years. As a playmaker, my task was to organize the team and the game and lead them to the desired goal. Still, when it's a beautiful sunny summer day, I like to go outside and spend the whole day on the basketball court.
How do you spend your time outside of the office?
When I'm not at work, I like to spend time with friends and family in nature. Some of my hobbies are hiking and camping, and my new destination for the adventure is a Highlander hiking tour. However, when I am in the mood for a more peaceful day at home, it is my greatest pleasure to read a book over coffee. I am currently reading the book "Atomic Habits" written by James Clear.
What’s your next step, or a few goals you’d like to accomplish in life, or while with Nortik?
I have a few ideas on how to enhance professionally. My first step is to finish the NLP course for coaches. Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is a psychological approach that involves analyzing strategies used by successful individuals and applying them to reach a personal goal. It relates thoughts, language, and patterns of behavior learned through experience to specific outcomes.
What are your primary responsibilities and what does your day-to-day look like?
I have a wide range of responsibilities as an HR Manager in Nortik. Some of the tasks that I work on are: recruit and hire new employees, manage training and development initiatives, keep track of employee performance, manage and improve communication, manage organizational and company culture, create a safe and inclusive work environment, oversee and manage benefits and compensation, handle conflicts, disciplinary actions, and terminations, organizing internal and external events, procurement of office supplies, etc.
What is the favorite part about working for Nortik?
People. I really love my job, but it wouldn't fulfill me if I wasn't surrounded by great people I work with. My team members are full of understanding, they always want to hear me out, help me to solve the problem, and be by my side when something goes wrong. I appreciate all my colleagues because they are hardworking young people who make every day's workday funny and everyday when I wake up in the morning I am really happy to go to work.
