The soul of’s brand is making human connections. Our tech partners continue to build and strengthen our community’s DNA. We are very proud to have Nignite as part of our circle, whose unique individuals now inspire and empower all of our team members.

Time to meet the Software Engineer at Nignite, Nikola!

What did you want to be when growing up?

As I grew up, I always wanted to teach. In primary and secondary school, I found the job of a teacher interesting. When I played tennis, I was interested in being a coach. I also found the work of assistants and professors interesting during my studies. I realized that in the end I like this last variant the most. I also loved playing with computers as a kid, so I think my love for programming is partly related to that.

Rafting on the beautiful Tara River

How do you balance your career at Nignite and friends & family?

I believe that if a person is well organized and respects his time and the obligations he has set for himself, there will be no problems with free time for family and friends. Personally, I try to think as little as possible about work after working hours so that I can fully devote myself to family, friends and other activities. However, since I love the work I do, it is not difficult for me to learn something new even outside of working hours.

Why did you join Nignite, and what has kept you here?

During my studies, I got an internship at Nignite. From the first day of practice, I felt accepted and comfortable. During the internship, I realized that I wanted to continue working in this company, and so it was. I believe that people (a good team of people) are the biggest drivers of success and significant undertakings!

It was the people and the atmosphere in the team that kept me and made me want to work in this company.

What is the best vacation you’ve been to?

I can't single out one best vacation, but I can single out definitely the best team building I've been on with the company. It was rafting on a Tara river. First of all, I had never been rafting before, so this sounded very interesting and tempting. We had a great time during that time, we have many adventures that we still talk about often!

Office day

Do you have an office nickname? What is it?

Nidža and Vukota are classic nicknames that I got based on my first and last name.

Doctor is a nickname I got from my company colleagues, there is an interesting story behind this nickname. Namely, because of a comment that my father mistakenly posted on a social network with the signature "Doctor Vukotic" from my account, my colleagues still call me "Doctor".

Professor is the nickname I got when I started working as a teaching assistant at a college.

What's your favorite newspaper, blog?

There is an interesting story behind my favorite website blog. When I was on internship, I was given an assignment that included technology that was quite new to me and to computing in general. The task was quite interesting, so I started researching. I found a blog site that covered this technology. This is the CodeMaze site. #CodeMaze

I still enjoy reading the articles on this site!
