Meet Bruno Neves. A developer with a degree in Computer Engineering and a keen eye on the crypto world. He’s part of the Microsoft Development team in Lisboa and is a full stack developer. He’s a big football fan, and in his freetime he loves to explore new places around him!
Learn more about Bruno below.
My first job as a developer was at Nexllence. After my graduation, I moved to Lisbon and started working for the company. At first I was working under a subcontract but regardless, I was treated like a company employee, which I really appreciated.
During my first project I was working side by side with colleagues that had far more experience than I did. At first I was concerned but they made me feel very comfortable and I was able to have the best experience during my first project in this company. I was able to grow both professionally and personally surrounded by amazing co-workers and a leadership that was always concerned about my personal and professional wellbeing.
The “groove” of the office is amazing! Every difficult moment passes by easily because everyone on the team is willing to help with all kinds of issues. It’s the small moments that make every single day a better day. From the games that we play during our lunch break to the small walks we take in the gardens that surround our headquarters.
These moments make me feel a part of the company, and even though I had spent such little time there, I was offered to become a Nexllence employee. An offer that I took right away because I already felt like a member of the company.
Some people say that a Software Developer's main job is writing code, I don’t agree with that. I believe that the hard work in software development is understanding the problem and searching for a solution and the best way to implement it.
Sometimes these problems are very complex, but the solution can arise from anywhere, even a simple conversation at the lunch table! Discussing and being in sync with the most recent technologies available is a huge advantage and helps simplify some problems. Which then results in better performance on resolving the issue.
There was a project that was being developed in the Porto office, one of our offices in Portugal, to which I was temporarily relocated to. The most memorable moment for me was the way I was received by the team even though I had never worked there before. They were very friendly and made me feel so comfortable, which really shows the company’s culture and it’s values.
Everyday, I work on my physical strength by doing some activities like running, swimming, or cycling. This is what relaxes me after a hard workday. Even on the weekends, I always find a way to release some of that energy by taking long beach walks with my family or finding somewhere new to visit near our city.
I am also always looking for a side hustle. Recently I used my technical skills with my will to hustle in the Cryptocurrency world. Finding projects that use blockchain technology at its best and trying to understand the projects can help prosper in the long term.
I think that the feeling of happiness can appear in multiple scenarios, inside and outside of work. Everytime I face a challenge and have to search for a solution, the feeling of joy when succeeding is amazing, even with the smallest problems! Or when I’m helping someone and we find that trigger that leads us to success.
I believe the simplest moments can trigger happiness in our day to day life. Helping someone cross the road, a simple smile to a waitress at a coffee shop, can be small moments for us but sometimes it’s all it takes to make someone’s day.

The first person to pop in my head is Cristiano Ronaldo. I am a football fan and I believe he is the best player in history. Most players his age have already retired from playing and he is still playing in one of the best leagues in the world. His mindset and dedication are attributes I really admire.
Sometimes we hear or read quotes that stick with us and always stay around. One may be more useful than the other but there are always times that we can use this knowledge. My top three are:
” You always win, even if you lose!”
” The best day to start was yesterday, but today is the second best”
” Failures are part of learning”
