Time to meet the Delivery Manager at Neurons Lab, Mariya!

What drew you to delivery? Have you always worked in management roles?

I work in the delivery, where Heaven connects with Earth :).

There are plenty of visioners and incredibly talented practitioners who all need an organizational structure, friendly environment, and suitable workflow to thrive and perform their best. This is where I step in to ensure things get done and that everyone will enjoy the process. I am convinced people should love and be proud of what they are doing; then, the result will be even better than planned. I am glad I can influence that!

If we were to generalize, then yes, I've always worked on organizing talents and resources to reach a common goal and make businesses successful.

In your opinion, what are the hallmark traits of a great delivery manager

Delivery managers are both process and people managers; thus, they should combine the best traits of both. As hallmark training, I see:

- empathy

- ability to ask questions, listen and hear what people say (hugely helps with stakeholder communication =)

- ability to motivate and inspire the team, give constructive feedback

- project ownership and devotion

- system thinking & analytical mindset

- desire to learn and improve

- creativity

Do you have any hobbies, go-to weekend activities, or long-term passion projects you’re working on?

For me, weekends are usually devoted to syncing up with friends and family, but besides, I love:

- jogging, long-distance walking, various activities in the nature

- fast-pacing table games like alias, Dixit, etc.

- big gatherings

- traveling (have big plans on getting acquainted with most world cultures)

- tasting delicious food and coffee

- reading

What’s your next step, or a few goals you’d like to accomplish in life, or while with Neuron Labs?

The next step is ongoing improvement and honing the skills I still have to master :)

I need to visit so many places around the world and taste different cuisines...

But besides the abovementioned, I currently envision three other streams I want to indulge in:

1) Small dev team culture enhancement for short-term projects

2) Exploring deeper behavioral science and product design

3) Studying various neuroplasticity approaches and their effect on lifelong learning opportunities

What's your favorite newspaper or blog?

Don't have one only, but I find podcasts about the path to innovations, products, and growth hacking to be compelling.

Mostly these podcasts reveal some failures before the success stories; this way, it gives the listener idea of what experiments were performed before the company reached success and what hypothesis they had.

What did you want to be when growing up?

Since early childhood, I have wanted to make people around the world happy. Growing a bit, I realized that education is a powerful tool. Then analyzing some literature characters made me realize that education can also lead to depression and destruction, so critical thinking should be a must-have subject at school =).

I still want to make this world a better place, thus working on disruptive technologies is aligned with this goal. Simultaneously, need to teach people to see business opportunities and use them to sustain their living independently, so I still stick to education and how it can help people to prosper in every part of the Earth.
