Time to meet the Quality Assurance Engineer at Looming Tech, Mihael!

Why did you join Looming Tech, and what has kept you here?

I joined Looming Tech back in May 2021, I have worked with Stefan and David before that on various projects and was really inspired by their vision of what a company should be and was really impressed by their skills.

What has kept me since then is the people first approach the company has, the awesome team of colleagues that still keeps growing and really feels like a family. I really love the projects and companies we are working with and the incredible products, that we are involved in creating!

What are your primary responsibilities and what does your day-to-day look like?

My primary responsobilities in Looming Tech are in the role of a Quality Assurance Engineer - making sure that the quality of the products we deliver to our clients and customers are top-notch and bug free. I am also mostly involved in creating test automation frameworks for our clients from scratch, as well as extending and maintaining ones they already have.

How has Looming Tech helped you in your career development?

Looming Tech has greatly helped in my career development by providing me the chance to work on products, that are both very interesting and fun, as well as technically challenging. The tech stack we are working with within the company is very broad and modern.

I believe that the right tech stack can help drive your products to success, making them easier to build and ensuring it evolves alongside customer needs. For example in Looming Tech I had the opportunity to create a test automation framework for Hintsa's new mobile app from scratch.

What is your proudest moment at Looming Tech?

My proudest moment at Looming Tech so far was working on the creation and delivery of the web application for Grasp.hr, I really liked the idea of the app - it enables individuals to locate their potential mentors and build a network based on mutual knowledge sharing, it was focused on creating opportunities for people in a big company to meet and help each other grow. They are now part of Hintsa, and I am really looking forward to delivering their app as well!

What have you gained from working at Looming Tech?

I have gained the opportunity to work with various modern and interesting technologies, some of which I had experience with from before and some that were brand new to me, for example react-native and k6, a performance testing tool we use with some of our clients.

I was also able to work on the architecture and creation of a couple of automation frameworks from scratch with different tech stacks and tools.

What drew you to engineering? Have you always worked in quality assurance roles?

I like to take responsibility for delivering a product with high quality, one that clients will enjoy to use. I also love the challenge within software testing - there are constantly puzzles and problems to solve, the challenges with it at are broad and diverse - the job will bring something new every day.
