The journey from QA to Business Development by Liliya
KindGeek has been for 7 years on the market; we’ve grown into a team of 180+ geeks, and we’re continuing to expand across all areas of the company. Fintech is our key domain with over 80% of the projects in the industry, but we also work in Education, Media, Retail, and Healthcare. We believe in a product-oriented approach and build products focusing on the final users.
Time to meet the Business Development Manager at KindGeek, Liliya!
Describe the beginning of your career. How did you start?
I joined KindGeek when I was still a university student. I remember my first working day quite well – I was super lost, but excited at the same time. I didn't know anyone and waited for some tasks all day, but now I would do it completely differently, without such fear.
I work for the company, to be exact, for 6 years, 5 months, 16 days, and 2 hours.

Liliya, Business Development Manager
How did you learn about KindGeek?
To be honest, KindGeek found out about me faster than I learned about it. I learned about KindGeek as a company already after an interview.
I studied software engineering and Anton Skrypnyk, KindGeek CEO, taught some courses at my program. As a student, I went to the USA through the Work & Travel program and while I was working there as a cashier, I received a message from Anton. He asked me whether I would like to try myself in IT because he remembered me among the students and decided to give me the opportunity.
After returning from America, I thought: why not? It was a great opportunity, so I came for an interview and applied for the Manual QA position, successfully passed it, and got hired.
How did you switch from QA to business development?
It was a lot of fun. I was a QA and I really liked it, but later I got the opportunity to work more with clients, marketing, branding, strategy and it fueled me more than tech. I was able to realize more of my potential, generate ideas, and be creative. It happened 1.5 years after I started my work at KG. I switched to business development and now I'm loving it.
How did the company change over the years?
To be honest, the company has changed a lot.
I was 12th in the company. It grew from a room to 2 offices, big projects, initiatives, and large-scale products. It has been very interesting and inspiring. What is more – this is just the beginning and I think something even better still lies ahead.

What did you take from working at KindGeek?
KindGeek has given me the opportunity to live my life the way I want. I think this is very important. It also gave me the space to develop and put my ideas into action.
For me, KindGeek is about opportunities to start, take initiative, and implement your ideas, as well as about cool Fridays with the team.
Describe your work at KindGeek in three phrases.
I do not know about 3 phrases, but I am sure about one: if you think that something is unreal, then you might change your mind.
