Ana proudly reviews the app she designed.
I joined the Gauss design team as a UX/UI designer because I wanted to start gaining experience during my final year of studies, and I stayed here after graduation.
What kept me here is the productive and motivating work atmosphere, helpful and inspiring colleagues, and flexibility and freedom offered to us regarding our workflow, interests, and knowledge.
At Gauss, I have the opportunity to work within a team on large-scale projects, including communication and working with clients. Therefore, within one year since I have been at Gauss, I have participated in projects such as website design, product design, and creative visual solutions for various industries.
Through work on such projects, I have had the opportunity to demonstrate my knowledge, competencies, and creativity while also learning more and improving my skills. Colleagues at Gauss are always ready to help with any concerns, new ideas are always well received, and the work atmosphere is productive and motivating.
My advice for prospective candidates is to use every opportunity they can get for growth and improvement and not be afraid to ask questions. Also, be confident in their decisions and be a constructive, critical, compassionate colleague and an honest individual.
The important thing is to enjoy the process, the creation, and the collaboration among the teams. By doing these things, future candidates will be the best version of themselves, professionally and personally.
My favourite projects are where I get to demonstrate and improve my skills and learn something new. Therefore, those are usually related to product design, such as Internet of Things platforms, web applications, and mobile applications tailored to user needs. Those projects are the most challenging but also the most rewarding regarding new experiences and education.
Since every project is different, whether in scope, industry, or the starting point, each one offers an opportunity to learn something new and grow professionally.
Ana enjoys spending her free time in her hometown riding bicycles.
My proudest moment is collaboration with colleagues and coming up with innovative solutions together. Through the design process, we come up with the best solution for the project and build on each other’s ideas and, through an iterative process, come up with the best solution regarding the project at hand. Seeing my work come to life and being used by satisfied users is always a proud moment.
I spend my time outside of the office socialising with family and friends, and doing physical exercises such as running and cycling. Socialising and physical activity is essential to me since it helps me clear my head and have fun. Also, I like to relax by cooking as well as drawing, singing, and playing music.
The definition of success in life for me is being happy, content, and fulfilled. Also, simultaneously providing others and loved ones with the same is also part of the success, which is the most important thing for me.

Regarding mobile phones and wearables, I am an Android type of person because of their quality and aesthetic. But, if we are talking about laptops and tablets, in that area, I am an Apple type of person because of their simplicity, endurance, and quality.
While growing up, I wanted to be a singer, but my love for music and arts led me to design and music high schools as I grew older. Those led me further to study design and graphic technology at the Faculty of Graphic Arts, an excellent combination of arts, science, and technology, which I love.
The intertwining of design and technology is what I really like about my profession and what interests me the most. Interdisciplinarity is what makes the field exciting and keeps you on your toes.
My motto or personal mantra in life is that everything happens for a reason. I have been convinced more than once that even though things happen that I do not consider good at the time or want them to be the other way, those things add to an outcome that is always positive and good.
Every bad thing happens for a reason and equals up to a good thing in the end. In this way, you learn through every experience to appreciate each challenge and embrace it for everything good that it brings.
