Marijo loves teamwork and consulting with colleagues to come up with the best solutions.
I came to Gauss in my third year of college. In addition to the knowledge I gained in college, I wanted to experience the development of real software solutions in the industry. I was interested in what kind of projects clients are looking for, and what the industry is developing. In addition to college, in my free time, I studied frontend development because that was the area that interested me the most, and it is in this position that I work at Gauss.
Getting started at the firm was challenging because I encountered a lot of new things that I couldn’t learn on my own at home or that were more extensive than in college. Still, colleagues and mentors are always there to introduce each new employee to the job as quickly and efficiently as possible.
I was kept at Gauss by a great team with whom nothing is difficult and never boring, and the daily challenges through which I am constantly learning new things keep me up to date with the latest technologies. I would also like to point out collegiality as our greatest virtue that makes us such a good team. Every day at work is filled, apart from daily tasks, with laughter and jokes because with new colleagues I also made new friends.
For anyone who has the desire to join our team, I would initially advise them to choose the area in which they feel most comfortable because that way, no day will be difficult for them as they will do what they love most.
Furthermore, after choosing the area they are interested in, let them research and learn about it as much as possible before they arrive in order to be as ready as possible for the challenges that await them. And for all the parts that are difficult at first, our mentors and other colleagues will help with the ambiguities and add that little link to the chain.
Getting started in the industry may seem scary, but I say it’s not really "a ghost" at all from my own experience. Gauss always gives a warm welcome to all new colleagues, so no one has to worry about how they will fit into the team, we are open and love to meet and collaborate with new people.
My favourite project is the application for renting deck chairs and other accompanying facilities on the beaches. I look forward to seeing users who use it with satisfaction during their vacation on the Adriatic.
There were various projects on which I learned some new things, for example, about golf, construction site management, and the people working on it, real estate sales, etc. Each project is unique, and with each, we learn new things, even unrelated to programming, but about specific issues on which the project is based.

I am proud every time we finish and release a project and see satisfied clients. If I have to choose one personal moment, then it would be when I was promoted to Team Leader, which gave me even more motivation for the upcoming challenges.
I think it is great that our company appreciates the effort and the employees who work will not go unnoticed. Each of us can show some of our additional skills and join our ideas in the team-building organisation or promotional materials or something completely different wherever we can contribute our energy and personality.
In my free time, when I'm not at work, I deal with college obligations, spend time with my girlfriend and friends, both over coffee and recreation, to compensate for our sedentary lifestyle at work. I also love music, movies, and following trends.
Everyone has a different picture of success. If we asked this question to a hundred different people, we would get just as many other answers. For me, success is being happy, having a family and people who always support me, and doing what I love and what fulfills me.
Marijo strives to spend every vacation on the Adriatic Sea, which he adores
As every cell phone I’ve had so far has been an Android, I’ll say I’m an Android type, but as they say, "never say never", maybe I’ll get bored in the future, so try the iPhone. And who knows, technology is changing fast, perhaps today tomorrow some new platform will prevail so we won’t choose either of these two but something quite different.
I wanted to be a doctor. Throughout high school, I was interested in medicine, I loved chemistry and biology, especially practical classes in biology where we applied the learned theory through practice, but I still finished at FERIT in the field of Computing, and here I am in Gauss.
Today, I am thrilled with how everything turned out, and I am delighted with the direction I enrolled in and my job. I found myself in what I had written, and very quickly, I gave into those waters, and I would say I swam successfully in them.
First of all, it’s a general feeling of happiness. Whatever you do, just let it make you happy and fulfilling. It’s a recipe for stepping through life satisfied.
