Digital technologies are changing the world and our lives in an unprecedented way. With new solutions being built and new ideas that come to life every day, we can do the things which were not possible before. Today, these new solutions are helping people who are in need and make their life better. For example, a small, mobile X-ray solution is being used by the doctors in Africa to diagnose people in remote villages.
At Commencis, we help companies and entrepreneurs to turn their new ideas into solid digital products, and strive to build a thriving digital society. That is why I joined Commencis.
Commencis is a great workplace and a tight-knit community where like-minded people come together and try to do something that has not been done before. It doesn’t have to be a large project or industry disruption, but rather consistent tweaks and new approaches that our team implements to add value for our clients.
I’m responsible for creating value for Commencis by working with our leadership and different teams to identify opportunities, clarify our business goals and bring different projects to life.
My work varies day-to-day. Some days, I talk with potential partners about how we can create potential synergies by joining forces. With our current clients from all over the world, we investigate how we can better support them in their digital transformation journey.
Other days, I work with our marketing team. We work on new ideas to position our brand and services. Or I focus my time on creating market reports that can guide our stakeholders in their digital journey. I also work with our product team to enhance our product strategy and take different initiatives to strengthen our positioning in the market. I can add countless different work-days and tasks into this list as our daily operation is very dynamic.
In the office getting some headspace to clear the task list for the day.
My favourite part is the dynamic environment that Commencis has and brings into my life. We are always working on new ways and trying new approaches to create value. Our team is full of young and passionate Commencers.
I love travelling and doing sports while I’m not working. During holidays, I try to explore new places and cultures that I haven’t encountered before.
Also, I love doing sports. In my daily life, I try to stay active by doing CrossFit workouts, running and yoga. On the weekends, I enjoy trail running and get ready for different trail running races during spring and autumn seasons.
I think defining success is a great challenge. People have been trying to answer this question. Many philosophers reflected on this question, while many intellectuals of our time are trying to answer this in their blogs or Youtube channels.
I have been reading a lot about this question, and for now, I have concluded that I can define success as developing an awareness about the world and myself, understanding what I like and want, and living a life in line with my own values.
I am the happiest when I am in nature walking, climbing, swimming or doing any other activity.
Exploring nature and enjoying the mountain landscape whilst walking.
It is very difficult for me to choose the best one among all the great experiences in different places that I have visited in the past 20 years. For me, the most memorable trip is when I visited Madagascar for 1 week and travelled through the river with a canoe, 3 boatmen and a chicken - which we unfortunately prepared for dinner.
During our trip, we visited villages along the river and spent time with local people. I always remember the beauty and difficulties that Madagascar has.
I am a foodie, with no doubt. But, if I had to eat one meal for the rest of my life, I would choose a plate with my favourite types of cheese, a homemade fresh-made bread, some yoghurt, a good bottle of wine and purple figs that are special to my hometown, Bursa Mudanya.
“The adventures of Asli” - hoping that I will have lots of adventures to tell and share with other people.
On one of my many adventures!
