A little R&D with Greg
More than fifteen years after it was founded, Clearview's philosophy is still going strong: We’re a remote-first, distributed software company with our team members spread across four continents. We specialize in partnering up for the long haul -- so we seek ongoing partnerships that lead to a deep understanding of your business domain and mutual, shared growth. We’re stack-agnostic — we can build a team for and/or adapt to any new tech. We see business as a vehicle for personal growth. We encourage and trust our team members to self-manage, promoting autonomy and innovation.
Time to meet the Head of R&D at Clearview, Greg!
How do you balance your career at Clearview with your family life?
It's just me and the wife right now. It's balanced af. Working remotely and not having kids in your life created a balanced life with almost no effort! Cheers to that!
Some lines of code
What has been your proudest moment at Clearview so far?
Wearing more hats than the Mad Hatter, and failure. I'm mostly proud of my failures as they allow me to grow. I believe the more mistakes you make the more you get to learn.
If there was a book (or a movie) about Clearview, what would it be called?
If there was a movie about Clearview it would most definetely be called "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels". We are gnitty, gritty, sometime serious, a lot of funny, and we get the job done!
What's your favorite line from a movie or a book?
This goes back to learning from your mistakes. My favorite line is 'The greatest teacher, failure is' -- Master Yoda. I will always believe this and hope everyone else does too.
Music is my top inspiration
What advice do you have for prospective Clearview candidates?
Clearview is all about self-management, working hard, and being proactive. Advice I give to prospective candidates is be proactive, communicative, and manage thyself.
If given a chance, who would you like to switch lives with for a day?
This is an easy one for me, and maybe anyone who is married. I would love to switch lives with my wife for a day. Maybe then I can really understand what it is that annoys her.
