Time to meet the Talent Acquisition Specialist at Cinnamon Agency, Krešimir!
What inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
It happened by accident that I'm in Human Resources. I was working in tourism and was unhappy so a friend of mine advised me to apply for a recruitment job at the agency she worked for back in the day. I applied, got the job, and realised that the hiring stage in the entire employee lifecycle is extremely interesting to me and that I want to pursue a career in the field of HR.
What do you like about your role?
I enjoy setting up the recruitment strategy and operations with my colleagues as much as I like performing recruitment activities. It is great that you get to meet and greet various people with different backgrounds, personalities and skillsets.
What are your hobbies?
Planting and growing plants is something that I just love. I'm a huge "plantoholiac" but I also like TV shows, especially fantasy ones, puzzles, and dancing. I would like to add hiking, but I guess I am too lazy to do it as much as I would want to!
What are the challenges or misconceptions about your job?
There are many misconceptions and many of them are related to the misbelief that recruitment is nothing but spamming, chasing and bothering potential candidates. Recruitment is much more - if the recruitment process is not properly organised and performed you have a big chance of losing or missing out on suitable candidates. This is also the biggest challenge.
What inspires you to succeed every day?
What inspires me the most is the fact that small steps, small puzzle pieces which you put together, slowly get you to bigger successes in the end. Not to mention that the knowledge and know-how you accumulate along the way is priceless!
What is the most important part of HR?
Hiring is the most important part of the entire employment lifecycle because it is the first impression the potential employee gets of a company - the hiring process influences the final decision whether to join the company or not and it also has a great impact on a company's retention/turnover rate.
