Meet Maria, a developer with a passion for astronomy
The soul of Pangea.ai’s brand is making human connections. Our tech partners continue to build and strengthen our community’s DNA. We are very proud to have CANARY TECHNOLOGY INNOVATIONS as part of our circle, whose unique individuals now inspire and empower all of our team members.
Time to meet the Software developer at Canary Technology Innovations, Maria!
What do you find to be the most exciting aspect of Canary Technology Innovations?
I am always excited to learn new things and the best part is that I am always learning something new at Canary. I like when I have to step out of my comfort zone when it comes to programming, to try new frameworks and new programming languages.
I also like that when the projects are so varied, I can even deepen the knowledge that I already have.
Do you have any hobbies, go-to weekend activities, or long-term passion projects you’re working on?
I’ve always been a shy person, not so talkative and I feel that drawing and painting always helped me express myself. I love to read and play video games. I’ve always been a gamer. I think this is something that pushed me into programming because I thought that someday I would create games that will bring the same emotions as those that I’ve experienced while playing.
Something that is, also, a big part of my life is my passion for astronomy. I love to learn everything about it, watch documentaries, and movies, and read about anything that is related to this field. I look at the moon, and planets and take pictures through my telescope.
I also like motorcycles and hope that in the future I will ride mine.
When I have some energy left, I learn Japanese. :)
What is the first concert you attended?
I think I was 14 years old at that time. I didn’t have many friends and didn’t have anyone to go with, so I went with my mom. It was a Moldavian band called ‘Alternosfera’. This moment always brings me a lot of emotions just because my mother took me to the concert, stayed with me there, and even enjoyed it. I still listen to ‘Alternosfera’ and cherish their music.
What have you gained from working at Canary Technology Innovations?
Working at Canary helped me develop both professionally and personally. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge in this field and I feel that I have evolved as a person from certain points of view because I had to learn to work in a team, communicate with my colleagues, but also with people from ‘outside the office’ – people that we work with certain projects
This an old picture of me in a 1v1 League of Legends battle at a gaming convention :D
What do you like most about Canary Technology Innovations?
I think that it is important to work in an environment where you feel good. I can say that this is completely fulfilled at Canary.
I like that we can express our opinions and not only that we can express them, but they matter.
Also, I like that I can rely on my colleagues, we always help each other when needed. But the awesome thing is that I was able to bond with some of my colleagues and create beautiful friendships.
If you could meet anyone in the world dead or alive who would it be and why?
I would love to meet Stephen Hawking. Because of my passion for science, I read his books and followed his theories and contributions in this field. I admired his dedication and will, which helped him overcome his condition. His story is an inspiration for me. It tells me that nothing can stop you from doing what you love and that the right mindset can push you forward.
