It’s time to meet the UX Architect, Danko!

What's your favorite line from a movie?

Well, there are probably hundreds that I would place as equal in the top spot, but this one from Trainspotting (1996) first came to my mind, so here it goes:

Interviewer: "Mr Murphy, what exactly attracts you to the leisure industry?"

Spud: "In a word, pleasure. My pleasure in other people's leisure."

What did you want to be when growing up?

I wanted to be many things, but the more important question (IMHO) is what did I naturally aspire to, so that's the one that I'll answer.

Primarily, it was vehicle design (motor vehicles, aircraft, spacecraft, watercraft...); secondarily, architecture and game design. I did them all either as concept drawings or with basic multi-purpose Lego bricks at an early age.

In your opinion, what are the hallmark traits of a great UX Architect?

Leaves the ego at bay, understands the heart of the business, empathizes with users, is data-driven when possible (and logical) but never ignores intuition, knows how to listen and accepts criticism with an honest intention to improve, seeks wisdom through many paths and applies it to designs, etc.

What do you like most about Bild Studio?

People that started it all (and still nurture it today) are good, selfless, talented and passionate about their work. That’s the basis on which the company culture was built.

An inclusive culture filled with mutual respect, encouragement, tolerance and sharing drive in which your voice can be heard no matter the position in the hierarchy.

Along the way, I have made a few great friendships.

Do you have an office nickname? What is it?

It’s Dankek. Several years ago we worked on a project for which our usernames consisted of the first three letters from our first and last name.

We formed a few nicknames based on this and joked internally for a short while, but mine stuck somehow to this day.

Let’s just say that I’m not thrilled with that.

If you could only drink one beer for the rest of your life, what would it be?

It would be a beer that can magically transform into any type of beer. Hope this answer can pass. ;)
