Having a head start in tech as a UI/UX designer, Flaviu Salagean quickly became one of the most valued testers at our company. Although not in his plan originally, he is now one of the very skilled QA Engineers working at BetterQA, all because he had the courage to migrate between work fields.
Outside of work, he might impress you with his sick guitar skills or maybe tell you some of his funny stories - like accidentally being the princess in a kindergarten play. Get to know more about Flaviu below!
I've always wanted to broaden my skill set as much as I possibly could. When the opportunity to switch fields arose, I jumped on the occasion! I like this field more than I thought I would. I also love the general atmosphere of the company so far!
During high school, I worked for an entire summer at a company building PCs from the ground up. This experience really taught me a lot of things about both hardware and software. Besides doing the hardware work, we had to troubleshoot many software issues, and that got me interested in the software testing domain.
I really like the general atmosphere of the company and I get on really well with the colleagues. What I find most challenging is dealing with difficult customers, but that’s a classic in any field.
There are no stupid questions, so don't be afraid to ask anything and everything. Be as involved as possible in the whole development process, this won't just help you do a better job, but you will surely learn new things as well.
I would probably be going forward with my UI/UX design career.
I usually spend it playing guitar into the wee hours of the night trying to nail a sick solo. I also enjoy spending time in the great outdoors, hiking, and having a couple of beers with the boys.
During a kindergarten play, I was stuck being dressed up as a princess. I was forced to spend the night parading in a pink dress and a crown on my head. The best (and worst) part is that I have visual proof of this because all the parents in the hall were taking photos of their kids.
Out of all the places I have visited so far, Venice takes the crown. The city has a kind of magic that is hard to put into words, and everyone has to experience it at least once in their life, so I highly recommend you start planning your next holiday there.
I would love to be a safari guide in the heart of the Amazonian jungle.
Did you know Alfred Hitchcock was afraid of eggs?
