Time to meet the Software Development Team Lead at Ant Colony, Benjamin!
Why did you join Ant Colony, and what has kept you here?
I joined Ant Colony at the start of my software engineering career. I was presented a glimpse of the company culture, the people that work there and It just seemed like my kind of workplace.
The interview process was different from any other I have seen up until that point. Very relaxed, straight to the point and without the unnecessary stress of multiple stages.
What keeps me here is the continuous opportunity of growth, and the chance to take responsibility. This has caused an immeasurable spike in my levels of knowledge, allowed me to demonstrate my abilities and allows me to keep growing even further.
Most of my colleagues are not just colleagues, but very close friends outside of work as well, making every work day a kind of different, enjoyable experience.

What are your primary responsibilities and what does your day-to-day look like?
Every day is a story of its own. My primary responsibilities as a Team Lead are ensuring that my team performs on the highest level, delivering the maximum output possible. This includes carrying out meetings, helping my teammates if they happen to encounter an issue that is preventing them from progressing and frequently communicating with the client.
I am predominantly a backend developer so I often assist colleagues that need help with backend technologies.
I also mentor new colleagues and participate in project code reviews ensuring that code is always written to a certain degree of expected quality.
